Snowbird Aviation Services is Saskatchewan's largest full-service aviation ground support company, providing safety focused service to Saskatchewan's largest regional airline, Rise Air.
Primary Responsibilities
Facilities Management
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Rise Air bases and supports base managers, maintenance and Snowbird personnel as required.
- Oversee daily facilities requirements and any contracted professionals through service contracts to provide a superior level of service in the areas of maintenance and repair; custodial and cleaning; and office equipment setup and moves.
- Provide training, guidance and direction to facilities personnel and ensure that all duties are completed safely and efficiently in accordance with company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor complex HVAC systems including heating boilers, ventilation, and air conditioning (humidification, dehumidification, cooling).
- Provide maintenance and repairs and interior and exterior cleaning to premises and fixtures as required.
- Monitor and perform maintenance on all aspects of the grounds, including landscaping; snow and ice removal; yard equipment and irrigation systems.
- Oversee construction and renovation projects; create specifications, evaluate price estimates, and ensure conformance with plans, specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Respond to calls during emergency situations, evaluating facility and equipment damage and taking necessary steps to protect all facilityrelated assets and systems. Support the requirements and activities of business recovery plans at all bases.
- In conjunction with the general manager, Snowbird Aviation Services, create and update policy and procedure manuals and guidelines for building and maintenance, grounds, and security.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an electronic tracking system for facility preventative requirements and capital budgets.
- Prepare and maintain operations programs, schedules, and work plan records. Provide the general manager with regular updates on weekly job planning and prioritization.
- Provide training, guidance and direction to cargo agents and ensure that all duties are completed safely and efficiently in accordance with company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Act as dedicated single point of contact related for all cargorelated communication between Rise Air and SSR.
- Coordinate warehousing for all SSR freight in Saskatoon.
- Coordinate freight hauls, scanning, loading and transfer of freight, and safety compliance.
- Coordinate cargo/freight customer requirements due to delayed/cancelled flights.
- Responsible for all facets of the organization's security program, including contracted security services.
- Provide a superior and sustainable security program that includes building access; keys and key fobs; fire alarm & suppression; and parking.
- Ensure that buildings meet health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with legislation. This includes at a minimum, quarterly inspections of facilities.
- Act as an SMS investigator.
- Act as dangerous goods coordinator.
- Authorize expenses and the payment of invoices for building maintenance work unit within approved policies and guidelines.
- Prepare, update and/or review facility annual work plan, including the preparation of internal operating and capital budgets and annual objectives for consideration by the general manager and executive leadership team.
- Analyze expenditures against budget and take necessary corrective action.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the company's vision, mission, and values.
- Foster a teambased environment through collaborative working relationships.
- Ensure optimal communication with all employees and internal partners.
- Continuously update job knowledge by participating in training and other education opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance and safety programs to promote an incident and injury free culture.
Qualifications:
Typically, the requirements for this position include five years of directly related experience.
A journeyperson certificate in a related trade and/or technical diploma in building maintenance or a facilities management administrator (FMA) designation is an asset.
A combination of education and experience may be considered.Skills, knowledge, and abilities include:
- Working knowledge of applicable bylaws, codes, and/or regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate all aspects of building operations and systems.
