Position Summary:


Job Duties/Responsibilities:

- operating Division vehicles and tow trailering equipment
- operating various grounds equipment including lawn tractors, push mowers, whippers, chain saws, tampers, rototillers, aerators, edgers and other various hand and power tools
- operating skid steer loaders, sanding trucks and power sweepers for the removal of snow, sanding and sweeping of parking lots, driveways and tarmacs
- maintaining trees and shrubs, including pruning and weed removal
- providing labour assistance to various trade areas and Distribution Centre
- assisting with the delivery and handling of supplies, tools and equipment
- assisting with furniture and equipment moves


Education/Qualifications:

- valid Alberta driver's license
- experience working in a school or institutional environment


Skills and Abilities:

- must have the ability to: lift up to 25kg; climb ladders, work at heights, kneel, stand and walk for extended periods; perform work in awkward positions
- must be able to undertake tasks requiring good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- good problem solving, organizational, time management and record keeping skills
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- computer literacy
- ability to work independently or on a team


Rate of Pay:

$20.46 per hour


Closing:

Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM; shift work may be required.
- must be prepared to use their personal vehicle to travel between Division schools and buildings
- must provide a driver's abstract with 6 demerits or less
- must provide all trade related hand tools
- must satisfactorily complete required occupational health and safety courses (First Aid, WHMIS, Confined Spaces, Asbestos training)
