- Leading the implementation of the CRL Sustainable Forest Management Plan.
- Reporting progress on the CRL Sustainable Forest Management Plan to regulators based on the CRL site license.
- Ensuring implementation aligns with the timeline committed to regulators.
- Engaging with involved parties.
- Collecting and summarizing information during engagement sessions and guiding necessary integration of changes.
- Focusing on engaging with concerned First Nations to comprehend their requirements, feedback, and potential inclusions in the CRL Sustainable Forest Management Plan.
- Developing and executing personal work plans with minimal supervision.
- Interacting with all levels of the organization, from Vice President to frontline staff, to facilitate execution.
- Performing other tasks as directed by your supervisor.
- Demonstrate a robust grasp of forestry regulations, best practices, and their practical application.
- In-depth knowledge of Federal and Ontario environmental laws and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Document engagement outcomes effectively.
- Collaborate smoothly with management, colleagues, and support teams, emphasizing teamwork.
- Show organizational and project management competencies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Access, Excel, data management, and project management software.
- Experience
- Registered as a Professional Forester for a minimum of 7 years.
- Over 15 years of hands-on experience in forestry operations.
- Proven track record of developing and obtaining approval for at least one comprehensive Forest Management Plan.
- Prior experience in a nuclear facility or similar specialized setting is advantageous.
- Experience in engaging with Indigenous First Nations to incorporate their viewpoints and recommendations.
- Familiarity with ISO-14001 standards and their application is beneficial.
- Field inspection experience to ensure compliance with Federal requirements.
- Education
- Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry from an accredited Canadian University or equivalent qualifications.
- Active member of the Ontario Professional Forester Association with recognition as a Registered Professional Forester.
- Security clearance eligibility: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC) requiring a minimum of 3 years' verifiable history in specified countries.
- This role involves fieldwork in various weather conditions, requiring walking long distances in a forested environment and spending extended periods outdoors.
