Position Type:

Salary:
$21.17 per hour


Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements**:


  • Health Care Aide certificate as per provincial curriculum
    (or 1st year LPN program completion/2nd year RN program completion):

  • Active registration with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory:

Previous experience in long-term care:


  • Education/experience with the Complex Dementia or head injury population is preferred:
  • Displays a flexible attitude in difficult situations
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language.
  • Brings a caring, compassionate and empathetic approach.
  • Mentally and physically able to complete duties as outlined above
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Demonstrates concern and interest in providing a safe and attractive environment for facility customers
  • Demonstrates effective communication, problemsolving and organizational skills
  • Ability to function as an effective team member with other staff, residents, families, and the public

Role Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the provision of personal care for Residents with complex behaviors
  • Utilize the Resident's Care Plan to provide individualized care
  • Promotes the physical, intellectual, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual wellbeing of residents and families
  • Complies with policies, procedures, and work routines
  • Ensures a safe and clean work environment
  • Deals safely, effectively, and appropriately with aggressive and agitated residents
  • Works in partnership with other individuals and departments to promote customer service for residents, guests, and employees
  • Be knowledgeable about and able to perform specialized behavior management
