Located centrally in City Square Shopping Centre (Cambie & West 12th), CAYA Health Centre is a new multidisciplinary clinic that specializes in women & gender-diverse peoples' health.
We strive to provide comprehensive care to people who have traditionally been underserved in health care; a place where people could feel safe and respected regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sex, presentation, or sexual orientation.
CAYA Health Centre offers well-rounded care by medical practitioners and allied health professionals all under one roof, including psychology & counselling, dietitian & nutrition counselling, physiotherapy, pelvic floor physiotherapy, massage therapy, and medical services.
Our clinic has 2 private therapy offices, 2 large private physiotherapy rooms, 1 private RMT room, 2 treatment rooms, a lunch room, and a lobby area for clients.
Job description:
The Medical Office Assistant is responsible for providing a knowledgeable, professional and friendly experience for all clients, and providing administrative support to our doctors and clinicians.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greeting and interacting with patients over the phone and in person.
- Collecting personal information from patients and entering it in the EMR system (Accuro).
- Help the doctor with their billings as needed.
- Scheduling appointments for patients.
- Validating patients' payment methods.
- Updating patients' health records.
- Billing and Processing payments.
- Ensuring clinic cleanliness.
- Maintaining detailed confidential client records.
- Liaising with third party insurers.
- Other administrative and front desk duties as needed.
Position Requirements
- Knowledge of EMR systems, especially Accuro.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Excellent administrative and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and also in a small collaborative team environment.
- Ability to address patient concerns and challenges with compassion and resilience.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and discretion.
Education & Experience:
- Medical Office Assistant training from VCC (or comparable training)
- Minimum of 1 years of administrative experience in the healthcare environment is preferred.
- Be proficient with computers systems (Accuro and JaneApp).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Qualifications:
- Be able to multitask in a fastpaced environment and be able to work well on their own.
- Be personable, professional & attentive to detail.
- Be reliable, trustworthy and hardworking.
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week
Salary:
$20.00-$25.00 per hour
