    Position Overview

    The Plumbing Official II involves safeguarding public health; policing areas for non-permitted construction; providing technical advice and guidance to many internal and external partners; responding to general public inquiries; dealing with problems and suggesting corrections and/or work improvements; preparing reports; performing general office duties; and assisting other inspectors.     The successful candidate for a Plumbing Official II ($44.36) must have the following qualifications:

    1. Valid BC Trades Qualification in Plumbing.
    2. Must have passed the Plumbing Officials' Association of BC Level II examination.
    3. Minimum 1 year previous experience in a municipal or provincial setting or field experience directly related to enforcement of bylaws, regulations, and acts.
    4. Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.

    The successful candidate for a Plumbing Official I ($38.68) must have the following qualifications:

    1. Valid BC Trades Qualification in Plumbing.
    2. Must have passed the Plumbing Officials' Association of BC Level I examination.
    3. Minimum three months' previous experience in a municipal or provincial setting or field experience directly related to enforcement of bylaws, regulations, and acts.
    4. Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.

    For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check.
