Accounting Clerk - London, Canada - London Cross Cultural Learner Centre

Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the
Accounting Clerk provides accounting and administrative support to the Accounting Supervisor and the entire Finance team.
- Roles Responsibilities: _
Accounting Duties (90%):
- Process accounts payables & receivables, employee expense claims etc.
- Resolve issues in a timely manner as related to accounts payable/receivable, expense claims, etc.
- Assist in coding entries accurately and on a timely basis into accounting system
- Assist in preparing bank reconciliations, journal entries, etc
- Assist in issuing receipts for donations
- Assist in maintaining the filing system for the Finance department
- Respond to client and employee inquires
- Assist Finance staff as required
Other Duties (10%): - Actively participate in all mandated training, meetings and workshops - Ensure appropriate and confidential handling of all department information and files - Follow the policies, guidelines, and protocols of the program and partner organizations - Assist with annual financial audit and funder audits as requested. - Accept other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- The minimum level of education required is a college diploma in accounting or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in place of educational requirements.
- One year of experience with accounts payable/receivable and other accounting clerical support duties
- Experience with Sage Intacct accounting system is considered an asset
- Appropriate level of proficiency in accounting principles, standards and practices
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in written and verbal formats, and when interacting with both individuals and groups
- Ability to prepare standard reports and forms
- Ability to do complex work that requires strong attention to detail in a deadlineoriented environment
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- High level of proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to work with individuals and groups from diverse cultural backgrounds and commitment to inclusion
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to complete a satisfactory Vulnerable Persons Police Check
Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay:
From $21.23 per hour
Expected hours: 21 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Experience:
- Accounting: 1 year (preferred)
- Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
