    Description
    ECC is seeking aStaff Environmental Scientist. This position is located in Port Hope Ontario and requires a Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) security clearance (5 years in country). This office and field position will be working with an on-site team to help plan, select, coordinate and implement scientific and environmental services to fully address the scope of work on environmental remediation and hazardous waste management projects in accordance with Company standards, regulatory criteria, and contractual obligations. This is an immediately available. In this position, you will:
    • Under direct supervision, prepare environmental reports and plans
    • Analyze environmental/ site/ material data
    • Perform cross-disciplinarysafety/quality, project controls, procurement and contracts, and estimatingduties as assigned
    • Report to the site and conduct field sampling, construction, engineering, and othermiscellaneous field support services
    • Maintain budget and schedule for assigned tasks
    • Apply industry standards of practice for selected technology, adhering to regulatory codes, building codes, national/ local standards, and company policies and SOPs
    • As directed, report to the field to perform and/or inspect or observe fieldwork, and review work of personnel, subcontractors and consultants to ensure compliance with approved plans and acceptable tolerances
    • Complete related documentation (field reports, logs, meeting minutes, online submittal sites), in a timely and accurate manner
    • In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position
    Requirements
    • Apply basic knowledge of general scientific and engineering principles and analytical tools, as directed
    • Apply education of environmental processes, remediation technologies, design and construction technologies as directed
    • Implement Federal and Provincial Environmental Regulations
    • Communicate effectively by written and verbal means
    • Perform multiple concurrent tasks and meet timelines, as directed
    • Work well independently and as a team
    • Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows
    • Must be able to obtain Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) security clearance
    • No previous experience required but internship preferred
    • Education- This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Life, Earth or Natural Sciences, Environmental Management, or related field from an accredited institution.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Prior internship in field of study preferred
    • Prior experience with Low-Level Radioactive Waste
    • Prior experience with large scale environmental remediation projects preferred
    ECC targeted base salary range for the Toronto, ON area is $50,000to $70,000annually.
    Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.Benefits Offered – full-time positions*Benefits subject to change.
