Job Summary:


The
Vice President of Strategic Procurement is accountable for the creation and development of procurement strategies, execution of business plans, and the delivery of procurement programs for Compass Group Canada & Foodbuy Members.


Now, if you were to come on board as one of our Vice President of Procurement, Strategic Procurement, we'd ask you to do the following for us:

  • Own the strategic creation, development and implementation of multi-year roadmaps and plans
  • Remain current on industry trends that could lead to development of new strategic initiatives in providing sustainable growth, sales and profitability
  • Oversee others within Procurement assignments to ensure effective management in driving value and adding support to other business units
  • Facilitate the Strategic Procurement Team collaborating with sector marketing groups in developing effective sales focused and forwardthinking promotional plans vendor participation support
  • Negotiate legal contracts and maintain agreements. Maintain industry contacts as the strategic lead on industry related issues.
  • Manage a diverse and highly specialized team through mentoring team members, establishing and providing career path planning
  • Champion collaboration with all departments for successful implementation of supplier programs to maximize full value potential. Maintain key relationships with internal Stakeholders and work cross functionally with all other aspects of the business on a variety of initiatives
  • Participate in strategic sourcing efforts within categories as needed
  • Suggest ongoing continuous improvements and encourage crossfunctional synergies in driving maximum value to the organization
  • Maintain inflation increases to below set KPI year over year, ensuring competitive pricing
  • Steward more senior level manufacturer relationships to support Strategic Procurement plans and ensure alignment to sourcing strategy for product and distribution
  • Oversee the business plans with key stakeholders such as Sector leadership. Deliver on financial and performance targets

Here's how we'll know you will be successful:


  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Procurement, with 45 years at a Leadership level.
  • University Degree in a related or relevant field preferred
  • High level of leadership and managerial skills to successfully manage and develop a robust team of Food Strategic Procurement Managers
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and database management
  • Evidence of an ability to influence and manage crossfunctional teams and work crossfunctionally with colleagues in all aspects of a business
  • Strong people and change management skills; capacity to effectively handle multiple agendas
  • Excellent communicator and relationship builder with strong networking skills.
  • Proven experience managing a P & L or budget and delivering plan results
