Psychometrist - Psychology


Under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Neuropsychologists and reporting to the Psychology Department Manager, the Psychometrist conducts and scores neuropsychological testing with patients referred from the paediatric oncology team at Children's Hospital.

Duties also include coordinating time sensitive assessments as outlined by the clinical trial, and the maintenance of files, test materials, and databases.

Regular Part-Time

Rate of Pay:
$29.35 per hour - $36.68 per hour

Hours of Work:
up to 22 hours per week


Qualifications:


  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Education, or a related discipline
  • Minimum oneyear recent, related experience in the administration of both clinical neuropsychology and psychoeducational assessment measures
  • Successful completion of university courses related to psychological assessment, research methods, and clinical neuropsychology
  • Experience in neuropsychological research
  • Experience in the administration and scoring of the Weschler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence (2nd edition), Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test, and the NIH Toolbox Cognition Battery
  • Advanced attention to detail and accuracy in recording patient test responses, scoring of test results, numerous calculations for scoring and referring to normative data
  • Previous recent, related psychological testing experience with children with neurological disorders
  • Proficient skill with Microsoft Office as well as computerized testing and scoring software
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills both verbal and writtenAdvanced attention to detail and accuracy in recording responses
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing demands
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC

  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
