Vice President, Sustainable Finance, Corporate Client Group.


What is the opportunity?


In this role, you will be part of the Corporate Client Group (CCG) - Sustainable Finance (SF) team which is responsible for the mid-market ESG strategy as it relates to client engagement, framework design and execution.

The SF team integrates environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors across the core mid-market platform to position CCG as a market leader in sustainable (green, social, transition) finance.

CCG SF provides structuring advice relating to Sustainable Finance loan products, including Green Loans (GL) and Sustainability Linked Loans (SLL), thereby supporting the financing requirements of borrowers in CCG.

We have responsibility for SF related matters on these transactions, from sustainable business advice, to informing them on product offerings, evaluating and establishing KPI/appropriate use of proceeds, reviewing loan documentation, coordinating with environmental risk as well as monitoring and compliance.

CCG SF works closely with partners across the enterprise, including Capital Markets Sustainable Finance Group, BFS Strategy, Enterprise & Transformation Strategy, Corporate Citizenship and Group Risk Management.


What will you do?

  • Support the Head, CCG Sustainable Finance to develop and grow relationships with sustainability officers across Corporate Client Group's client base
  • Develop and lead sustainable finance advisory engagements with clients
  • Work with deal teams and Relationship Managers to structure sustainable finance loan products including ESGperformance linked loans
  • Support deal teams credit submissions, including research and due diligence as part of transaction processes
  • Develop pitch books and clientrelated materials related to sustainable finance products
  • Partner across the Enterprise to integrate ESG offerings into our Sustainable Finance practice
  • Coach and develop SFG team members at the Associate level
  • Monitor global sustainability and ESG trends, themes, and topics
  • Analyze quantitative data related to Sustainable Finance
  • Review research and reports to distill insights to support clientfacing thoughtleadership

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Undergraduate or master's degree in business, accounting or finance
  • 5+ years' experience in either finance/investment management/management consulting and/or sustainability
  • Knowledge of key trends, themes and issues related to ESG, sustainable finance and sustainability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships with clients and at all levels of the organization
  • Well organized, able to set priorities and devote appropriate attention to each assignment resulting in performing well under pressure, meeting time sensitive deadlines, prioritizing work and being able to work on multiple projects.
  • Ability to take initiative and function independently, balanced with strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of Capital Markets, credit, credit metrics, and credit structuring
  • Previous trackrecord in Sustainable Finance and/or integrating ESG factors into financial product structures and into corporate advisory engagements
  • Experience with Bloomberg, S&P and thirdparty ESG data services such Sustainalytics and MSCI
  • Knowledge of sustainability standards and frameworks including SASB and TCFD
  • Ability to commit to over and above regular work hours
