***The Strategic Account Manager is based in White City office and performs all related work required to source, develop, and maintain strategic customer accounts and relationships for both Canadian Plains Energy Services and it's parent company Strike Group in Saskatchewan. The incumbent acts as a primary point of contact for a portfolio of customers and will strive to build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships and services which best fit the individual needs of the customer. This incumbent reports to the Chief Commercial Officer, as a member of the Business Development team, and primarily works collaboratively with all Canadian Plains and Saskatoon operations management. The incumbent will upport continuous improvement initiatives, collect information such as leads or testimonials, capture and analyze customer data and identifies industry trends.

CORE ACCOUNTABILTIES

  • Manage the experience of customers to ensure positive relationships are established, maintained, and improved upon
  • Seek new business opportunities through existing relationships
  • Bring forward opportunities with new and existing oil & gas, waterworks, utilities, mining, energy, and agriculture customers
  • Develop relationships with industry professionals, stakeholders and Indigenous groups to market and grow Strike as a contractor of choice in Saskatchewan
  • Understand Strike's service offerings, strategic plans, and capabilities to holistically support projects from cradle to grave
  • Develop strategic account plans for customers
  • Uncover opportunities for master services agreements that are functional and mutually beneficial
  • Promote and maintain Strike's brand and reputation
  • Collaborate regularly with management to discuss and plan for prospects, opportunities, customers, marketing efforts, strategy, community and Indigenous engagement, events, and conferences
  • Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of customers and stakeholders to create strong buyin
  • Build and leverage the sales funnel for business growth
  • Understand customer decision criteria to generate additional sales growth
  • Attend all regular sales meetings and training sessions as required
  • Meet regularly with prospects and customers to uncovering potential projects and work with management to ensure alignment
  • Maintain customer relationships and implement strategies to support sustainability
  • Maintain accurate customer and opportunity information in the Customer Relationship Management system
  • Facilitate and record post project reviews and post bid reviews
  • Conduct sales presentations that highlight key benefits and the value of Strike's products and services

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in marketing, business, or a technical trade certification:


Experience:

Five years of experience in business development or hands on experience in Saskatchewan's oil & gas, mining, or industrial construction sectors


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to close sales for strategic customers

Capable of selling multiple product/service lines simultaneously

Demonstrated ability to work closely with operations personnel

Exceptional speaking skills, including experience presenting to large and diverse audiences

Strong ability work within cohesive teams to target clients and get the sale

Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Exemplary professional verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Capable of working independently with mínimal direction

Results-oriented, self-motivated, and a team player

Accomplished negotiation and diplomacy skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Extensive travel required
