Qualifications:


  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
  • Experience in the provision of brief and moderate term psychological intervention, including group and individual psychotherapy and behaviour management techniques with adults with serious mental health and/or addiction issues
  • Experience in a variety of evidencebased treatment approaches with adults is preferred
  • Knowledge of Decision guide/Shared Decision making model of care, motivational interviewing and strengths based approaches to care
  • Knowledge and experience with the development, execution and evaluation of treatment plans utilizing SMART goals
  • Skill/experience in the administration and interpretation of psychometric tests
  • Experience in research, program evaluation, and knowledge transfer preferred
  • Experience providing supervision to nonregistered staff and/or students is preferred
  • Experience working within an interprofessional team setting with the ability to work collaboratively as a team player with excellent relationship building, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Understanding of relevant legislation (Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act and PHIPA)
  • Knowledge of the Strategic Priorities of SJCG and Mental Health Outpatient Programs
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver's license, adequate insurance and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Demonstrated regular attendance at work and adherence to the SJCG Principles of Conduct

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
