About the role
We're looking for a
_ Loss Prevention Consultant _to join our growing team


As a
_ Loss Prevention Consultant_, your work will have a big impact on providing consultation to underwriters, adjusters, and brokers on risk management and loss prevention pertaining to commercial auto and trucking accounts.

You will be conducting surveys and risk assessments of commercial auto and trucking operations for existing and/or potential business.

People will count on you to identifying hazards and conditions on all classes of fleets in relation to fleet management and fleet performance that should be improved to prevent or mitigate loss.

Montreal (2020, Robert-Bourassa), Anjou (7101, Jean-Talon E) or Quebec (5700, des Galeries)


What you'll do here:


  • Provide technical guidance and consultation to underwriters, adjusters, and brokers on risk management and loss prevention pertaining to commercial auto and trucking accounts.
  • Conduct surveys and assessments of commercial auto and trucking operations for existing and/or potential business.
  • Formulate verbal and written recommendations based on technical expertise to help improve the account as required.
  • Translate assessment findings into a report that supports the underwriting of commercial auto and trucking accounts.
  • As a representative of the company, provide quality customer service and experience to insureds and brokers as well as to internal customers such as underwriters, claims adjusters and managers.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training programs relating to loss control and prevention to brokers, underwriters, and insureds.
  • Maintain knowledge expertise in commercial auto and trucking operations.
  • Stay abreast to the knowledge of changes in provincial and state regulations and industry standards

What you bring to the table:

  • Post-secondary education, either a degree or college diploma in a related discipline or sufficient experience in the trucking / fleet safety field
  • Certified in Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) or Subject Matter Expert in CVOR knowledge
  • Possess full knowledge of the National Safety Code (NSC) standards and compliance
  • A preferred 57 years of experience with practical knowledge required to inspect commercial auto and trucking accounts
  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record and abstract
  • Embrace technologies related to the trucking industry such as telematics, elogs, dashcams and their use
  • Experience working in the field of claims, underwriting, loss prevention or safety with respect to commercial auto and or trucking
  • Great communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Driven with selfinitiation and good problemsolving skills
  • Customer focused and results driven
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PP)
