- Interface and work collaboratively with Producers, CG Supervisor, and artists under the guidance of the VFX Supervisor and Global Head of 2D to create high-quality visual effects.
- Responsible for motivating communication and dialogue within their project, between other Compositing Supervisors, Producers, VFX Supervisor, and CG Supervisor.
- Assist VFX Supervisors and Producers in script breakdown and bidding VFX projects.
- Provide the highest quality VFX possible based on a project's budget and time constraints.
- Accountable for new project set up using established studio workflows and templates.
- Plan and execute shot methodologies for their assigned project and ensuring consistency.
- Facilitate and conduct reviews/dailies, in conjunction with the Producer and/or CG Supervisor.
- Oversee and assist Compositing Leads and artists daily with their respective project.
- Nurture, train and mentor internal talent, as well as new hires, to enhance growth and skill.
- Ensure a standard that results in artist excellence, encouraging quality and accountability on the artist level.
- Research and utilize current technology trends and tools (hardware and software) that best suit the production and CoSA VFX in the development of a stronger creative technical environment.
- Develop presets and templates needed during the development stage and execution of projects.
- Create necessary project-specific LUTS and episode, as provided in the client EDL/CDL.
- Makes sure assets (including elements, footage, and references) achieve all technical aspects of production.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Visual Effects for broadcast television and/or feature films.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Compositing Supervisor in the production of high-end Visual Effects for television/film.
- A strong sense of teamwork with excellent communication and collaborative skills applied within the VFX team, producers, VFX supervisors, and clients on project status.
- Effectively execute all necessary assigned tasks while under tight production schedule deadlines.
- Expert knowledge and proficiency in Nuke, with a basic understanding of color science.
- Experience with Shotgrid or other production shot tracking software.
- Fluency of pipeline workflow in a post-production environment.
- Strong aesthetic sensibility, with an eye for creativity, design, and color space concepts.
- Self-motivated problem solver with a positive attitude.

Description
CoSA VFX is an award-winning, fast-paced, and highly collaborative Visual Effects studio with locations across North America. The CoSA studio is seeking several experienced Compositing Supervisors for remote opportunities in British Columbia with anticipated start dates in June 2024.
Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage and supervise a team of Compositing Leads and Compositors and be able to provide constructive feedback on their work. Ensuring consistency, helping to develop production methodologies, and quickly and efficiently problem solve is key for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS
The wage range for this full-time position is $140,000 - $170,000 per year which is a good faith assessment associated with this position only and will be assessed dependent on the skills and background of each candidate.
