RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre.

Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.

The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary

We are looking for an motivated individual to join a research laboratory which investigates the impact of genetics and nutrition on birth defects and liver disease.

The position involves the use of molecular and biochemical techniques to assist in studying mouse models of human disease. Experience with mice and embryo collection would be useful but not required.

General Duties

Participate in laboratory projects and experiments,
Perform histological techniques such as tissue processing and embedding,
Prepare stock solutions,
Record results, perform calculations and compile data,
Perform some statistical analyses of data,
Contribute to figures and publications,
Participate in general laboratory management tasks.

Master's Degree

Field of Study:
any area of Life Sciences

Work Experience:

Experience with some molecular biology techniques, ideally PCR,
Previous experience working with animal models would be an asset.

Additional information

Status:
Temporary Full-Time (35-hour workweek) 1 year renewable

Pay Scale:
$47,320 to $87,887.80 / Commensurate with education and experience
