THE OPPORTUNITY
YOUR RRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for HR and Payroll function, provide recommendation for improvement and support the implementation of new policies and procedures
- Being the point of contact for any team member enquires about HR policies and procedures, as well as payroll and benefits programs
- Manage the full scope of payroll function, including timely and accurate processing of payrolls and ensuring compliance with tax and regulations
- Liaise with various benefit providers and act as the administrator for the programs
- Support talent acquisition activities, including job posting and onboarding assistance
- Aid in implementing performance management practices and providing support for employee grievances
- Assist with coordinating meetings regarding performance reviews and disciplinary discussions
- Assist in managing the employer's Training and Development efforts
- Participate in labormanagement committee meetings to address issues and interpret employment / labour agreements
- Support social committee initiatives to promote company culture and engagement
- Serve as the management representative in the Joint Health and Safety Committee and lead safety initiatives
- Manage WorkSafeBC account Review and approve incident investigations, provide recommendations on corrective actions, follow up to ensure completion and plan a safe Return to Work program
- Provide assistance on periodend accounting process for on payroll and benefits reconciliation
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Have at least 3 years of experience in HR and Payroll, familiar with general HR process functions and processes in both Union and Non-Union environments
- Have experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar Payroll Systems
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Possess a positive attitude and willingness to learn and contribute
- Reliable and able to work in a deadline driven environment
- Passionate to champion a culture which promotes collaboration and team work
- Being proactive, organized and are able to handle multiple tasks with keen interest in problem solving and always providing solutions
COMPENSATION
- Salary range: $55, $65,000.00 per year
- Benefits: Extended Health, Dental and Pension
- Compensation and benefits package is commensurate with experience
