Description

Work in the Quality Assurance Department to ensure Regulatory Compliance for SMP Georgetown VED, Solid State, Medical and Airborne products.


Position Duties

  • Work with Engineering to complete internal and external EMC and electrical safety tests to comply with regulations and adopted standards
  • Provide guidance to engineering regarding EMC and electrical safety requirements based on intended use of equipment
  • Participate in design and engineering change reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to assess for impact to risk or the need to notify regulatory bodies of significant changes or updates
  • Stay current with revisions of applicable standards, as well as the regulations and requirements of key markets (EU, Canada, US)
  • Investigate requirements for complying with regulations in other markets as required
  • Prepare and maintain product regulatory submission packages, technical files, product declarations, and other documentation as required by specific agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure conformity of devices before releasing to market
  • Support foreign mandated Authorised Representatives
  • Ensure compliancy to post market surveillance requirements of regulatory bodies
  • Support audits by external regulatory agencies
  • Lead continuous improvement activities related to Regulatory and certification processes.

Position Requirements

  • Electronic Technologist Diploma or Electrical Engineering Degree
  • 4 5 years of experience in electronics design or regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of standards IEC or IEC
  • Previous work with RF, high voltage or switch mode power supplies would be an asset
  • Well organized and able to independently manage multiple projects
  • Good written and oral communication
