Flair Airlines is currently seeking a permanent, full-time
Maintenance Safety and Quality Specialist to join our growing and ever-changing organization.
The Maintenance Safety and Quality Specialist position is required to assist and support the Safety Management System and Quality Control functions for Flair airlines.
Primary Job Functions:
- Ensuring that Safety Management System (SMS) occurrences are investigated and monitored for identification of root cause, and implementation of preventive and corrective actions.
- Raising Maintenance Safety occurrences into Flair's SMS computer system
- Facilitating or assisting, in the completion of risk assessments
- Respecting confidentiality requirements on SMS reports
- Monitoring Flair maintenance and contractor operations processes in order to determine compliance with applicable requirements
- Assisting in the development of Internal maintenance process
- Monitoring, assisting and ensuring that Quality Assurance internal and external audit finding corrective actions entered into Centrik are performed by the accountable area managers
- Providing feedback on Safety and Quality occurrences for process improvement
- Promoting safety awareness to Flair maintenance personnel and contractors
- Maintaining contact with Maintenance contractors on relevant safety and quality matters; Maintaining an approved vendor list
- Assist in providing internal and external training to Maintenance personnel and contractors
- Development of training materials
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Transport Canada AME M2, E, or S with a minimum of 5 years of licensed experience
- Previous training in audit processes IAW ISO 9001 internal auditors
- Knowledge of Safety Management Systems and related Canadian Air Regulations CARs
- Knowledge in Root cause analysis and corrective preventative action planning
- Efficient and effective multitasking abilities, able to respond quickly in a dynamic and fastpaced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Company personnel
- Ability to work in a highstress, everchanging work environment while prioritizing tasks and assignments effectively
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Experience in the training presentation
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Ability to be flexible to meet targets
- Clear criminal record check
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction
Safety Duties, Accountabilities, Authorities, and Responsibilities:
- Report proactive and reactive safety issues;
- Demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety and actively participate in the company's SMS program; and
- Maintain familiarity with CARS as it pertains to commercial operations and maintenance requirements.
