Role Summary
The Manager, Asset, and Facilities are responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the Asset Management Framework and capital project portfolio.
As an Asset Management champion, this individual will be responsible for defining and evolving the performance of the Assets both above and below ground and meeting customer requirements in a proficient and cost-effective manner.
Key outputs and accountabilities
Awareness and understanding of Trafigura Operations related Standards including specific governance and local legislative requirements.
- Manage site maintenance resource levels through work management control.
- Manage site maintenance program within the Asset Management Framework while implementing industry best practices, focusing on proactive/predictive maintenance and planning/scheduling.
- Analyze and improve maintenance parameters (cost, preventative maintenance, schedule compliance and asset utilization). Ensuring site equipment is regularly serviced and inspected according to regulatory compliance.
- Monitor the use of spare parts, supplies and ensure systems are in place meeting reorder requirements.
- Liaise with Execution Managers (Surface, Mine, Mill) to coordinate repair work ensuring predictive business results are met.
- Prepare reports, analyze data to improve site operations and solve maintenance related problems.
- Ensure that the maintenance team is trained, equipped and motivated and adhering to strict cost control routines. Continually coach and provide feedback in accordance to performance reviews based on job descriptions.
- Navigate complex and ambiguous situations with numerous stakeholders and diverging interests to drive process change.
- Manage a complex team of mixed trades and engineering professionals by coordinating activities and coaching team member(s), ensuring that quality is maintained and that learning opportunities are provided.
Key Technical Output:
- Operation/Maintaining of the site power distribution.
- Ensure maintenance areas follow site environmental, health, and safety policies and that disposal of waste is in accordance with site waste management policy.
- Business planning on one (1) to five (5) year horizon, capital requests, and maximizing revenue from current assets.
- Management of all maintenance/service contracts with monitoring routines and reporting.
- Planning and Managing any planned maintenance periods.
Key Dimensions (size, budget, additional KPI's etc)
- Compliance with Myra Falls and Trafigura policies and procedures.
- Implementation of Asset Management Framework.
- Provide data and analysis on performance of site assets and teams performance.
- Delivery of agreed outcomes aligned with the overall business plan and values.
- Direct interfacing with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Execution of activities aligned and within the Safety, Health and Environment standards and procedures
Legislative Requirements
All employees shall:
- Comply with relevant Safe Work Method Statements, SWPs and other relevant Procedures and Standards at the mine.
- Adhere to all engineering and maintenance standards.
Qualifications:
- Technical certificate or mechanical degree (An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
- 15+ years of Experience developing and working to budgets and capital cost expectations
- Understanding of all aspects of underground/processing operation of metalliferous mining.
- Six Sigma Green Belt
Experience:
- 15+ years of experience managing large complex surface/underground infrastructure and leadership of engineering and power systems teams.
- 20+ years of experience implementing maintenance management and reliability systems.
- Experience with Critical Control Verification and ownership of unwanted material events.
- Experience operating in a matrix reporting structure, with multiple stakeholders and leaders.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to the strategic direction of the function.
- Experience with Utilities and power distribution systems.
- Experienced in SAP implementation and gap analysis improving the workflow.
Skills / Knowledge:
- The ability to influence others, create alignment, generate a commitment to goals, and inspire others to action while managing diverse stakeholder groups and multiple change initiatives.
- Strong leadership ability by demonstrating desired values, behaviors, and work practices.
