ABOUT THE POSITION_
Reporting to the Executive Director, this position is responsible for managing and overseeing the HR framework of all human resource functions within Lions Housing Centres

SOME RESPONSIBILITIES_
- Lead the Human Resource team by promoting an inclusive culture and using best practices.
- Build trust and partnerships with Leaders by providing counsel, expertise, and solutions that support the facility in achieving key goals.
- Lead development and oversee implementation of a variety of strategic HR projects
- Ability to interpret and implement progressive discipline for union and nonunion employees
- Responsible for writing policies and procedures, ensuring they are kept up to date with current legislation at all times and implements a process to ensure all employees are well versed with the latest updates
- Creates a process to manage employee records ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Handles employee relations issues in a timely and effective fashion
- Oversees the investigation process and determine solutions and/or necessary action
- Oversees the termination process, ensuring legal and legislative requirements are met and that all employees are treated fairly and equitably
JOB REQUIREMENTS:_
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a progressive Human Resources role.
- Postsecondary education in Human Resource Management, Business, or related discipline.
- Knowledge of employment standards and health & safety.
- Knowledge of QHR or related HRIS system.
- Payroll experience (PCP certification an asset).
- CPHR is an asset
- Union experience required
