Position Summary

Under the direction of the System Manager Architect, this position is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, maintenance, and support of multiple assigned systems within established performance criteria.

Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.

Key Accountabilities

  • System optimization activities including patching, upgrading, and performance tuning
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of systems hardware, reviewing event logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
  • Analysis, troubleshooting and resolution of systems infrastructure, hardware, software, and networking issues up to and including operating systems
  • Take part in processing site support calls
  • Design, development, and implementation of assigned system infrastructure
  • Disaster Recovery and continuity planning for essential systems including participating in regular DR testing activities
  • Performance of highlevel root cause analysis for service interruptions, resolution of issues and creation of preventive measures
  • Manage incidents and develop change requests including implementation, communication, testing and back out plans following ITIL framework
  • Maintenance of system documentation and provision of reports on maintenance contracts, SLAs and warranty information of assigned systems
  • Identification of opportunities and proposal of solutions for continuous improvement
  • Establish and maintain IT processes supporting assigned systems
  • Follows IT policies and procedures and maintains working knowledge of utilized technologies
  • Participate in afterhours oncall rotation and ability to work offhours for critical system upgrades
  • Manage & liaise with service providers, vendors, and external consultants to procure and maintain services according to established policies and procedures
  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective, and positive serviceoriented communication
  • Builds strong working relationships with guests, employees, and vendors
  • Complies with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Education and Qualifications

  • Postsecondary education in IT or a suitable combination of education and experience
  • Proven troubleshooting experience for O/S, server, network & storage infrastructure
  • Minimum Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, VMware VCA or Nutanix NCP certified
  • 5 years of experience in medium to large enterprise level system administration and customer service including direct working experience with one or more of Microsoft Windows Server/Active Directory, VMware, Citrix, Nutanix, Office 365, Enterprise Backup & Storage
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License

Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular office environment, nontraditional work hours may be required in certain circumstances, some travel may be required
