Description

GFL Environmental is looking for a full-time AZ/DZ Emergency Response Operator to support our liquid line of business out of our Hamilton, Ontario site.

Key Responsibilities:

Industrial cleaning of chemical non-hazardous and hazardous waste
Highway incidents involving tractor trailers, accidents, and chemical leaks
Train derailments involving hazardous chemicals, fires, and site safety planning
Weather event responses involving wind/ice storms, forest fires, and flooding
Chemical assessments and advisory services.
Working alongside police, fire, EMS, Environment Canada, and other stakeholders.
Operate Vacuum/Hydrovac Truck(training post hiring can apply)
Operate Roll-off/Lugger, Box Truck or Tractor Trailer(training post hiring can apply)
Power washing and High Pressure Water blasting as required
Line snaking, Drain and Pipe Inspections as required
Operate Pick-up truck, utility trailer, forklift, excavator, bobcat, etc
Maintain cleanliness of Tools and Equipment and Industrial Services Shop
Industrial cleaning of chemical non-hazardous and hazardous waste
Collection of hazardous and non-hazardous goods
Complete all necessary paperwork and government documents

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

Strong work ethic
Willingness to learn
Highly motivated
Valid AZ and/or DZ license with a suitable drivers abstract
On-call work availability for emergency response
Valid Certification in First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of employment)
Maintain cleanliness of Tools and Equipment and Industrial Services Shop
