Job Description:
As a Tax Associate, you will work as a part of a team of professionals helping to solve complex business problems from strategy to execution
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of Canadian and/or US personal income tax returns and related forms/deliverables
- Research and drafting of tax technical opinions.
- Interaction with clients to provide advice in relation to tax matters associated with their international employment.
- Engage with team members to service clients and bring value to their organization.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems.
- Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends.
- Seek and embrace opportunities which give exposure to different situations, environments and perspectives.
- Use straightforward communication, in a structured way, when influencing and connecting with others.
- Able to read situations and model behavior to build quality relationships.
- Use feedback and reflection to develop selfawareness, personal strengths and address development areas.
Qualifications:
- Continued development of Canadian and US individual tax technical knowledge, including payroll, tax equalizations, and tax policies.
- Ability to research business and industry trends.
- Learn from active participation in client discussions and team meetings.
- Experimentation with automation and digitization in a professional services environment including, but not limited to: innovating through new and existing technologies, along with experimenting with digitization solutions.
- Working with large complex data sets to build models and leverage data visualization tools.
- Strong customer service skills and experience in client facing roles.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple work assignments.
