The main function of the Material Operator is the transportation of raw materials within the plant.

This is a 6-month contract position with the following schedule:
6pm-430am, 4 days a week


What you'll be contributing:


  • Adheres to all traffic rules, posted and understood
  • To safely and effectively operate Heavy Frontend Loaders, Off-Highway Trucks on completed training
  • Conduct daily inspections of assigned units, document and report any inadequacies to the Supervisor
  • Requires knowledge of all raw materials
  • Reclaim limestone and VRM hopper as required
  • Inspect the crushing and raw material transportation system, report deficiencies.
  • Responsible for housecleaning routines up to and including state of equipment before and after operating
  • Must be able to obtain necessary permit to operate abovenamed equipment as provided by the Company.
  • To operate and inspect the crushing and raw material transport system, reporting deficiencies
  • Report on problems with equipment, processes and deficiencies as it happens
  • Mechanical inclination to be able to identify issues with equipment
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment (safe work practices, watch out for one another)
  • Use of PPE is required on the job
  • Perform other duties as assigned within your department

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate various mobile equipment as required (i.e Bobcats, sweepers, small loaders, etc.)
  • Must have a valid "G" class driver's license
  • Ability to obtain necessary permits/licenses to operate Heavy front end loader and off highway truck.
  • Mechanical inclination to identify issues with the equipment
  • Knowledge of dust collection system
  • Mechanical, Electrical and Process troubleshooting ability
  • Knowledge of raw materials and storage hall
  • Good written/oral communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
