The Opportunity


We seek the best and the brightest at 1st Electric, and we are looking for a qualified
Accounting Clerk to join our team.

This position reports to the Controller and requires exceptional analytical and communication skills, a high degree of attention to detail, time management, organization and problem solving.

In addition, this position requires the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.


Responsibilities:


  • Accounts receivable/payable
  • Collection of money
  • Payroll
  • Inventory management support
  • Journal entries and balance sheet reporting
  • WCB, HST remittances
  • Yearend T4s
  • Weekly deposits
  • Work collaboratively with management, office colleagues and field crews
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Post-Secondary diploma in accounting and payroll required (undergraduate degree is considered an asset)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a comparable role
  • Experience using QuickBooks and Jobber
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong people skills resourceful and decisive with the desire to hold yourself accountable for our customer's experience
  • Critical thinking you are able to use sound judgement and common sense while problemsolving and moving requests forward
  • Team player you are a team player with a proven ability to build relationships
  • Responsiveness you have the ability to prioritize and commit to agreed upon timelines

Start Date:
As soon as possible.

*Personal vehicle required, as there is no public transportation access along the job route.
