Position will be begin August 14, 2023.

Specific Accountabilities:

The Professor will be responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective environment through the design and revision of programs and courses, defining and evaluating learning outcomes, developing appropriate teaching and learning environments, and developing / selecting appropriate learning materials.

You will be expected to tutor and counsel students as well as create assessments, rubrics, and evaluate student achievement.

Participating in the development and modification of curriculum, participating in various committees, and keeping current in your field through consultation with business and industry representatives are essential components of this position.

You will champion the development of customized training and educational programs in collaboration with public and private sector partners. Program promotion and student recruitment are also essential areas of responsibility.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Arts degree in a related field such as Criminal Justice, Criminology, is required.
Masters Degree in relevant field is preferred.
A minimum of five years relevant professional experience in policing, corrections, border services, or security management is required.
Additionally, familiarity with current issues related to both operations and administration of public safety organizations would be an asset.
Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience in criminal justice or public safety at a postsecondary institution.
Experience with incorporating simulation based learning in the curriculum.
Applicants will have a desire to contribute to the education of the next generation of professionals within Criminal Justice or Public Safety.
Applicants must have the ability to be an effective role model in an educational setting and function effectively in a team environment.
