The Opportunity

As a Market Analyst with our GTA New Homes research team located in our Toronto office.

The Market Analyst will be part of a highly motivated, multi-disciplinary team of professionals responsible for the collection of new homes data across the GTA.

You will be responsible for the successful collection and dissemination of new home project information by visiting new home sales office and entering the collected information into Altus' proprietary database.

You will complete all daily projects and tasks assigned, adhere to data collection and quality standards, work to resolve issues and execution of new initiatives.

You will be called upon to address any issues, questions, concerns from the New Homes Manager or Director, other internal staff, as well as clients or industry stakeholders and will be responsible for inquiries to achieve resolution.

You will liaise with industry professionals and information partners to achieve objectives and maintain consistent and timely provision of new home data.

Upon completion of data collection, you will be in involved in the review of the data and execution of the publish process with the team

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct site visits. Gather first-hand knowledge of properties by planning for site visits and collecting relevant information once on site. This includes taking photographs that meet database standards.
Enter the details and maintain the database. Perform large amounts of data entry into the database in an accurate and timely manner, to ensure that our real estate data is well maintained and up to date. (Approximately 50% of the role.)
Follow the trends. Use your knowledge of the real estate market to follow key market indicators and trends.
Ensure accuracy. Review the database to ensure all of the details are accurate and current, and that all fields are completed. You will pursue information to complete files.
Develop industry contacts. As you network and develop external contacts, you will facilitate the sharing of real estate information and gain a deeper knowledge of the industry.
Collaborate internally. As you collaborate with team members, you will enforce a friendly team atmosphere where everyone assists others as needed to meet deadlines.

Position Requirements:

Genuine interest in the real estate industry with a strong desire to learn.
At least 1 year of related work experience is required.
Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract is required.
Strong attention to detail and proven ability to enter large amounts of data efficiently, with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to collect, understand, verify and compile relevant information.
Understanding of strict deadlines and ability to prioritize workload in a fastpaced environment.
A logical approach to problem solving with the instinct to follow processes and best practices.
Outstanding communication and relationship building skills. This is a role that requires reaching out to property managers, owners, and other external stakeholders to ascertain details and confirm information; professionalism is key.
