The Opportunity

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Input all relevant data into the licensing system.
  • Prepare and issue correspondence to applicants and licensees regarding outstanding requirements, and clarification of licensing requirements.
  • Respond to written and oral licensing inquiries within 12 business days.
  • Document all pertinent telephone calls and meetings in licensee/applicant's file on the licensing system.
  • Follow up on open and pending cases.
  • Remain up to date on Council legislation and procedures.
  • Assist in providing training to the licensing assistant and new licensing officers.
  • Participate in system development meetings as required and give feedback by way of testing the system in specific licensing areas.
  • Liaise with other regulatory bodies regarding applicants and licensees.
  • Handle other duties as assigned by the Manager, Licensing.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Three to Five years in a related position.
  • Postsecondary degree in a related field such as business administration, or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in business writing
  • Excellent word processing skills with a minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.
  • Good timemanagement skills with an ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and changing priorities.
