Planner/Scheduler

The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for the development and maintenance of well-defined project schedules for assigned construction projects at the pre-construction and construction phases


Essentially, the Planner/Scheduler will:


work with the project bid team and estimating to develop a strategy for delivery and gain buy-in; be responsible for the integrity of the schedule and implement the information provided by the project team; maintain the schedule and advise the project team on performance as well as own findings, observations and recommendations.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and analysis of contract documents to develop welldefined, realistic construction schedules, including preliminary schedules, during the procurement phase.
  • Work with the Operations team to refine and develop the preliminary master schedule in accordance with the contract documents and further detailing the sequence of all work to be performed.
  • Support development of the most effective tracking process and mechanisms to be utilized during the construction phase.
  • Analyze, trend and track project progress; communicate the progress to the project team.
  • Track and document schedule impacts and assist with delay analysis.
  • Communicate the reasons for schedule variances and propose workaround plans.
  • Prepare a final report for the project team highlighting successes and failures encountered throughout construction for inclusion within the project closeout and lessons learned report.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar and a minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Strong Primavera P6 and MS Project skills
  • Must be familiar with the entire construction process from procurement, construction, closeout, equipment, installation, and commissioning activities
  • Solid knowledge of building construction methods and techniques
  • Must be able to work consistently at a fast pace and on multiple assignments concurrently
