Position Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Water / Flood Technician supports emergency response and restoration projects to ensure the goals and needs of the insurance companies and our customers are being met.
- water remediation procedures consistent with the IICRCS-500 Standard.
Job Duties
- Work on job sites providing the following services
- o Moving & re-setting contents
- o Selective demolition as required to accommodate the drying process
- o debris disposal
- o Setting drying equipment
- o Carpet cleaning
- o Capable of moisture mapping the affected area, inclusive of temperature, relative humidity and MC moisture content readings
- Participate as directed in the following activities:
- Vehicle safety and maintenance inspections
- o Constructing polyethylene enclosures
- o Maintaining equipment
- Will practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and noncluttered worksite
- Provide excellent customer service
- Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
- Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people's property and information
- Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment
- Comply with all
Belfor policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements - Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person
- This role could be required to act as a "lead" periodically as designated by their manager
- Attend all
Belfor sponsored training courses
Qualifications
- IICRC certification for Water Restoration Technician (WRT) required
- IICRC certification for Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) an asset
- 2+ years industry related experience, Construction / Restoration / Insurance preferred
- Familiarity with chemical products including use, disposal, and Safety Data Sheets
- Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices
- Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per
Belfor's vehicle policy - Ability to work within a team or independently as needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Basic computer and/or Tablet / iPad experience
- Willing to work evenings, on call and weekends when requested
- Periodic travel may be required
- Criminal Record Check
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting from 540 lbs, unassisted (from 3565% of the time)
- Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time)
- Access and mobility in tight spaces
- Fit Testing half and full face mask as needed, annual certification required
- Working at Heights over 5 feet, periodically
- Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling
