Position Description
We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a fast paced, multi-tasker to add to our Barrie operations. The focus of the role is to supervise all plant operations including production and quality. The role will report directly to the Plant General Manager.

Initially, all roles will be on dayshift.

The plant will be moving to three shifts as business grows so all applicants need to understand that shift work may/will be required.

Position Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of production employees who process, package, and test tires/crumb.
  • Requisition materials and supplies
  • Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policy'. Identify any training gaps and resolve the issue.
  • Recommend personnel actions such as hirings and promotions.
  • Prepare production and other reports.
  • Abide by all Environmental, Health and Safety protocols.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and safe manner.
  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that established OEE quality/availability/performance standards are communicated and achieved within the department.
  • Ensure that safety standards are identified, communicated and achieved within the department.
  • Where an established OEE or safety standard is not being met, identify the root cause and take the appropriate action.
  • Ensure that operators use standard work and associated tools to meet standards.
  • Maintain 5S standards and measures within the department.
  • Conduct team meetings with departmental employees covering current OEE, product, quality and safety information.
  • Initiate employee counseling and disciplinary action.
  • Ensure that environmental standards are identified, communicated and enforced within the department.
  • Perform a minimum of one yearly performance evaluation for each departmental employee.
  • Provide support for the continuous improvement initiatives within E360.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
Health and Safety Responsibilities

  • Conducts planned workplace inspections.
  • Seeks out and corrects acts or conditions, ensuring all safety and nonsafety rules and regulations are followed.
  • Ensure adherence to established quality and housekeeping standards.
  • Review and adhere to E360 health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, and policies.
  • Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects or noncompliance issues.
  • Understand and uphold the policies that prohibit workplace violence and harassment.
  • Involvement in the accident/incident program, determine root causes, correct action and followingup to ensure completion.
  • In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent is an asset.
  • Superior organizational and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of the occupational health and safety act
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • 1 to 2 years of previous supervisory experience.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts.
  • Experience and qualified to operate skid steers, excavators, and other industrial mobile equipment would be an asset.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
