Data Science Intern

Job Summary:

We are looking for a self-motivated intern to work on a multi-disciplinary project to demonstrate the use of machine learning (and possibly text analytics techniques) to analyze public domain data to promote the Altair brand.

The role will contribute to achieving two primary objectives:
(i) improve the Altair brand, and (ii) show the use of Altair software products in real life cases of public interest. This is great opportunity to work and learn alongside experienced data scientists and support Altair's vision of radically changing user experiences in software.
The position is for 3-4 month summer 2023 internship.

What You Will Do:

Working in a team environment
Learning Altair data science software
Acquisition of public domain data
Data preparation
Summary evaluation of results
Developing and deploying data science models to improve the user experience with Altair software products
Developing machine learning models using Python and Altair software products

What You Will Need:

Basics:

Your are studying toward a Bachelor's Degree (or Higher) in Computer Science, Engineering or similar quantitative fields
Familiarity with programming in Python
Familiarity of Altair's simulation software is a plus, but not required

Preferred:

Knowledge of Machine Learning techniques
Strong mathematical background
