As
Recreation Assistant in the Village Club you will assess, plan, facilitate and evaluate programs that meet client recreational needs, interests and expectations.

You will perform required documentation practices.

You will support client requests and needs to allow them to maintain a level of independence by supporting them in the activities of daily living (ADL) and their participation in activities of their choice.

You will support family, volunteer, student and community involvement.

Diploma/Certificate in Recreation and Leisure studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Activation Gerontology, or other related field from a community college or university.
Three years previous experience working with seniors and /or the disabled is preferred.
Welldeveloped assessment skills and an understanding of each client's physical and cognitive challenges.
Must have experience planning, facilitating and evaluating recreation programs for seniors and the disabled.
Proficient in Word Perfect, Excel
Intermediate knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Infection Control and the Gentlecare model of care.
Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills.
Takes responsibility to work independently make decisions and take initiative with mínimal intervention.
Able to prioritize work responsibilities while maintaining a high degree of efficiency.
Cooperative and flexible team player, able to build and maintain positive working relationships.
