Production Associate-Mechanical Assembly/Final Assembly (Afternoon Shift)

We are looking for a Production Associate-Mechanical Assembly/Final Assembly (Afternoon Shift) to join our world-class manufacturing and design facility in _Ottawa, Ontario_


You will work as a member of the Manufacturing Production group and be responsible for mechanical assembly processes involved in the manufacture of CWDS products.

We expect you to have experience in mechanical assembly.

Your Challenge:

  • Operate equipment efficiently following defined work schedule from the area Supervisor & Production Control as well as following all Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Assembly of mechanical pieces on to the product as defined by drawings & BOMs.
  • Provide recommendations for process changes and improvement.
  • Support yield improvements through Continuous Improvement Projects.
  • Complete all logs, reports and other data as defined by the area Supervisor.
  • May contribute as a member of the Spill team and/or Health and Safety committee.
  • Responsible for all material handling duties, lifting daily supplies as required.
  • Willing to support 3 shift rotations as required.
  • Maintaining a workstation in regard to 6S principles.

What You Bring:

  • Post-Secondary education favorable but not a requirement years of manufacturing experience would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of defect recognition for workmanship requirements.
  • Experience within a PWB assembly or Box build environment.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP and personal computers.
  • Experience working with formal procedures and supporting documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Able to lift normal consumable supplies associated with the processes.
  • Mechanical aptitude with manual dexterity.
  • Familiar with mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with torque tools.
