Reports To:
Warehouse Supervisor
Primary Objectives:
- Maintain and improve branch profitability and excellent customer service by:
- Coordinating the delivery process for customers and branches
- Ensuring accuracy in orders loaded matching the product to be loaded to the paperwork
- Prioritizing shipping needs in order of urgency
- Developing and maintaining strong and positive relationships with branches
- Ensure that all safety standards are met and exceeded as outlined in the Company Safety Manual
- Demonstrate personal responsibility and accountability daily with regard to attitude, job performance, professionalism and commitment to continuous development
- Support and promote the company's Core Values of Personal Excellence, Teamwork and Achievement.
Safety Accountabilities:
- Use/wear any protective equipment, devices or clothing required by Marks Supply i.e. steel toed shoes or boots, cut resistant gloves, safety glasses, respiratorsas applicable to the job
- Report to your supervisor the absence of safety devices or any defect in any equipment/safety device that you are aware of, which could endanger yourself or others.
- Report immediately to your supervisor: any contraventions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) or the Company Safety Policies, any accidents or incidents that occur, or the existence of any hazards you are aware of.
- Operate any necessary machinery or equipment safely in accordance with the safety rules and procedures for that equipment.
- Be aware of the common hazards in this position (following safety procedures and using caution): Ergonomic injuries, trips, slips, cuts, lifting incorrectly, hand/foot injuries, fall(arrest)
- Keep up to date on the company Health & Safety Policies, follow the policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all safety standards are met and exceeded as outlined in the OHSA and the Company Safety Manual
Other Key Accountabilities:
- Check all product prior to loading for proper quantity, product and packaging
- Respond to internal questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure trucks are loaded in a safe and efficient manner in order to comply with MTO load security requirements
- Product to be packaged, secured and loaded in order to minimize damage to the product and to facilitate unloading by the driver at the customers site or the branch
- Load the pipe as indicated on the "Worksheet"
- Other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Warehouse experience. Plumbing or HVAC industry experience and product knowledge
- Previous shipping experience
- Ability to operate material handing equipment. Tow motor certification required for this position
- Physically agile in order to lift, carry and move large and awkward items
- Ability to work overtime as required to complete daily tasks or to assist the department with a heavy workload
- Able to use a computerized order and inventory system
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain paperwork
- Able to read and write in English and count accurately
- Excellent organizational skills, able to prioritize and delegate tasks
- Ability to make decisions and meet daily deadlines working in a fastpaced environment
- Flexible to change tasks quickly when necessary
- Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to customer service
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to lead a team of Pickers, maximizing their effectiveness each shift (lead hand)
