College Professor - Philosophy
Philosophy
The role and responsibilities of a faculty member focus on the activities related to teachers, academics and scholars.
They include but are not limited to an awareness of current scholarship and continuing mastery in one's field, instructional and professional duties, professional development, and service.
In addition, duties and responsibilities may include scholarly activity.PhD is preferred. Professional or post-secondary school work experience directly related to the duty assignment is an asset. Experience demonstrating a learner-centered teaching philosophy is desired. An active profile in scholarship, research and creative activity is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
The Department of Philosophy at Okanagan College invites applications for a part-time term position, teaching in Fall 2024.
The position is 2 sections of PHIL 111 (Intro to Philosophy I), 1 section of PHIL 251 (Environmental Ethics), and 1 section of PHIL 411 (Professional Ethics) all on the Kelowna Campus.
The ideal candidate will have 1) at minimum an MA in Philosophy and 2) strong teaching philosophy. An active profile in research will also be considered an asset.They must demonstrate evidence of high-quality research and a track-record of effective teaching in their application.
