    Description:

    The Network platform team at Ford is currently searching for software engineer. This position will be a 12 month contract. This person will be responsible for writing software in C/C++ to develop network protocols to increase in vehicle connectivity as well as external connectivity. External connectivity will eventually be used for communication with traffic lights, other cars, and pedestrians. This will help build Ford's autonomous car. The network platform team supports all 3 of Ford's teams - ECG, TCU and SYNC.

    Working as a part of this team means you'll be on a team of highly educated, effective people. They believes in flexibility and developing people in their career. This team focuses on software updates remotely (over the air updates), so it literally impacts Ford vehicles across the world. The impact of your work is widespread and critical. It can be a lot of pressure, but it is fun and means that your work matters.

    Duties:

    Working in the full SDLC to implement software features and networking protocols

    Working in a dispersed team to meet project deadlines

    Attending daily and weekly scrum and status meetings

    Coding, primarily in C++, to help implement the next gen networking for FMV4.

    Top Skills Details:

    Strong skill programming in C++ and Linux

    Nice to Have Skills:

    GRPC, Protobuf, Linux, Layer 2, Layer 3, Networking, Firmware, Rtos, qnx, unix, avb, ipv4, ipv6, IP, Gos, DNS, Multihome, TLS, Firewall

    TCP/IP, UDP, QUIC, Yocto, QNX, Embedded Linux

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:

    1. 3+ years of C++ Object Oriented Development

    2. Linux/Unix

    3. Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals (namely data structures)

    4. Experience working with Design Patterns

    Experience Level:

    Intermediate Level

    Work Structure:

    Hybrid Onsite in Ottawa 3 days a week
