Opportunity
MacEwan University invites applicants for a full-time continuing Academic Advisor opportunity with our Faculty of Arts and Science.
Reporting to the Associate Dean, Operations, you will support both the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BSc), programs, helping students in pursuing academic success at MacEwan University.
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:- Communicating the comprehensive knowledge regarding the BA degree and the BSc degree, as well as relevant MacEwan University policies and procedure;
- Developing information resources and processes;
- Facilitating activities supporting student recruitment, success and retention;
- Providing information, advising, and support to students and parents/guardians, faculty, staff, and external contacts;
- Deescalating situations with external and internal clients; and
- Performing various administrative duties in support of the student engagement functions and acting as a resource for other programs and departments within the University.

- The ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing;
- Strong problemsolving skills;
- The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships;
- The ability to work independently;
- The ability to prioritize your work and multitask; and
- Strong presentation skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a postsecondary institution working with students.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
