Overview

Solace is looking for a detail-oriented Controller to undertake a variety of accounting responsibilities.

Reporting to the VP Finance, you will be part of a team of dynamic professionals, working on a large variety of tasks.

The Right Person Will:

Oversee the monthly consolidation and close process including maintaining timely and accurate financial statements and other reports that are appropriate for Management and in accordance with IFRS.
Manage, mentor and coach a growing transactional team of six.
Prepare commentary about actual versus forecast and budget variances.
Work closely with department leaders to manage spend and prepare regular expense forecasts.
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining detailed cash flow projections.
Confirm global payrolls are processed in a timely manner, including accurate records and regulatory reporting and documentation.
Complete complex bonus/variable compensation calculations efficiently and accurately.
Ensure compliance with annual external audits (corporate and local) and internal financial and accounting policies and procedures; developing and implementing new strategies as required.
Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including withholding payments, income tax, goods and services tax.
Responsible for completing and filing annual tax returns for all Solace entities including parent, subsidiaries and branches.
Prepare analysis, calculations and entries for transfer pricing transactions (including allocations) on a monthly basis.
Assist the VP Finance with ad hoc reporting requests.
Formal accounting education.
Completed CPA designation (mandatory).
5+ years of progressive experience in an accounting role.
Experience managing/mentoring team members.
High attention to accuracy and detail in working processes and reports.
Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, use of data and logical functions, nested functions in a formula, power query).
Experience with audits and international taxes including (VAT, GST, consumption taxes, sales taxes).
Able to multitask, work under pressure, meet deadlines and willing to put in extensive hours when required during the close process.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have:

Experience using Great Plains or similar ERP system.
Previous financial reporting experience.
