This position falls under the Internal Communications department.
Position Description:
This Web Officer will help ensure that the Ottawa Hospital's internal and external websites reflect the Hospital's mission, vision, and brand, and uphold a best-in-class digital experience for our patients, their families, and our staff and enable us to enhance engagement as well as our visual brand.
- Helping lead quality-control processes to screen and reshape content destined for the Hospital's website aligning with best practices and mobile first approaches
- Helping lead the migration of web content and formatting of online PDF's into accessible formats.
- Helping lead and ensure compliance of web content and documents with legal obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
- In addition, the Web Officer will play a pivotal role on the internal team to help execute the development of The Ottawa Hospital's web transformation project from onboarding to completion, as led by an external agency.

Rotation/Shifts:
What you will do:
- Help lead the maintenance of the current and future public and intranet websites, ensuring that sites meet user expectations, adhere to design standards, run smoothly, and are consistently optimized to the highest standard;
- Help lead and problem solve policy issues relating to web accessibility compliance, ensuring the organization's compliance with AODA accessibility requirements allthewhile optimizing efficiency and improving the online patient experience;
- Work collaboratively with the Web Transformation Project internal team (Project Manager, Lead Web Officer, Content Writers, Lead, Digital Content and Brand Strategist, TOH Digital Solutions Department) and the external agency, to ensure that the Web Transformation Project is delivered on time and withing scope and budget helping lead the migration and mobilization of content in alignment with branding, accessibility guidelines, policies, and design.
- Provide timely and relevant data analysis of web assets to ensure content is up to date and relevant.
- Help lead quality assurance testing and analysis, gather, and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
- Help lead the ongoing development and design of responsive website platforms including functionality, performance, upgrading and maintenance.
- Writing well designed, testable, efficient code (when/if required) by using best software development practices and integrating data from various backend services and databases
What you will bring: - Three (3) year diploma in community college in computer science, IT, systems engineering or related qualifications.
- A minimum of five (5) years recent, related experience as a web manager;
- Experience with preparing and delivering data/metrics, writing briefing notes for Senior Management;
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with project stakeholders and to manage internal and relationships and expectations;
- Ability to prepare, analyze and deliver data reports;
- Ability to implement, facilitate, lead change, and to propose process improvements, troubleshooting, and valueadded initiatives;
