Student Estimator

As an Estimating Student Project Coordinator at Graham, you will: _**- Set-up and complete estimate in company standard estimating program

Review and provide comments on preliminary construction schedules based on selfperform productivities and subcontractor input to determine project duration and resulting overhead costs
Complete estimate quantification and draft costing of labour, including productivities, equipment including productivities, material, and subtrade plugs
Identify and develop constructability requirements for project construction
Create lists of subtrades and suppliers to invite within our invitation to bid software in order to have proper coverage when closing a tender
Communicate with subtrades and suppliers on a regular basis
Participate and attend with a senior estimator scheduled site visits in relation to projects that are out for tender
Participate in the identification of project risk and cost mitigation, as well as the potential for project opportunities and cost savings
Participate in the analysis of potential strategies, advantages, or innovations for the project that could provide Graham with a more competitive bid
Analyze subcontractor bids for irregularities and ensure the full scope of work is included
Participate in the bid close or, when solely responsible, lead bid close with oversight by a more senior estimator
Demonstrate an increasing level of professionalism / confidence and increased autonomy

Qualifications/Experience of a Student Estimator:
_**- Working towards the completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school

Proficiency in the use of Graham software suite, MS Excel, scheduling software (Primavera preferred), quantification software (such as OnScreen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Agtek), and BIM modelling is an asset
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills with above average organizational and time management abilities
Ability to comprehend tender documents, specifications, and drawings, with a basic understanding of contractual requirements
General understanding of all construction scopes of work

Student BIM Coordinator

As a Student BIM Coordinator at Graham, you will: _**- Follow the BIM execution plan, ensuring that the information is in line with the plan.

Track BIM/VDC deliverables from trades and consultants and ensure they are provided in line with the plan.
Follow the process for clash detection provide models, sort, and prioritize.
Set up Revit, Navisworks, etc. models.
Verify and document coordinate system requirements.
Create and name export views and export sets in Revit.
Export data for use in other software packages.
Generate model content (i.e. Revit families).
Create federated Navisworks files.
Export DWG format backgrounds from Revit.
Participate in Coordination Meetings (clash meetings), supporting and providing information to support the project manager's decision making.
Run and publish Navisworks clash detection data for the project team.
Process point cloud data on applicable projects.
Create asbuilt model.
Help the project manager by providing information (i.e. highlighting potential conflicts or risks) to help make educated and supported decisions on the project.

_Qualifications/Experience of a Student BIM Coordinator:_

Currently enrolled in a degree or diploma training program at a college or technical school specializing in BIM.
Autodesk certification, CANBIM certification, and construction association certification are all assets.
Demonstrated general knowledge of and increasing familiarity with the core elements of a construction project, including systems, practices, and processes of project management.
Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, Primavera P6; Synchro, BIM360, and equivalent
