EVALUATION SPECIALIST**
CONTRIBUTING TO THE CMPA
Safe Medical Care Learning (SMCL) is central to the CMPA's vision of being a learning organization.

The department's core activities include design, development, delivery, and evaluation of CMPA's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs and learning products as well as accreditation, administrative and production support of these products and services.

Digital learning products contribute to a blended learning approach and are readily accessible through the modernization of the CMPA website.

The department utilizes state of the art pedagogical science to share knowledge and improve practice of members and their teams while also contributing to the internal learning needs of CMPA staff, leaders, and governance through internal collaborations.

  • Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive departmental evaluation strategy to demonstrate strategic performance and impact.
  • Design and implement evaluation plans, models, instruments and tools, perform data collection and analysis, and mobilizes results through various communication channels.
  • Ensure the corporate alignment of departmental evaluation activities.
  • Compile, analyze, and synthesize information to inform strategic direction and initiatives.
  • Identify and frequently review priorities for evaluation activities.

Evaluation Capacity

  • Conduct environmental scans and literature reviews to identify trends and developments in evaluation and performance measurement that can inform departmental decisionmaking.
  • Develop and maintain relationships within the CMPA evaluation and performance measurement communities of practice.
  • Contribute to building awareness and capacity for evaluation and performance measurement through sharing knowledge and expertise within the department.
  • Develop and maintain consistent data collection, analysis and data management practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Fouryear degree in a relevant area (e.g., social sciences, public administration, community studies, management, etc.) with an emphasis on research
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience (e.g., evaluation planning, and/or performance measurement/analysis)
  • Canadian Evaluation Society Credentialed Evaluator (CE) or ability to work toward meeting CE qualification requirements
  • Experience working with senior decision makers, staff and a variety of stakeholders is preferred
  • Project management training would be an asset

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Knowledge and experience using mixedmethods (quantitative and qualitative) approaches to research and evaluation planning, design, implementation analysis and reporting
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to deal with multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to take initiative and use sound judgment
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic with demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
  • Ability to problem solve and take initiative to resolve issues
  • Demonstrated ability to use a variety of technical platforms and software programs to support research and data analysis
  • Proven ability to mobilize knowledge for diverse audiences, including presenting and disseminating results in clear, concise and compelling language
  • Knowledge of Canada's healthcare system

  • Salary range: $81,952 to $114,73 this role is classified as level
  • Location: Hybrid
  • Primary Remote Job. You can work from a homebased office the majority of time, with regular onsite presence at the CMPA office (up to 12 days per week). If you prefer to work in an office setting as your primary workspace, you can choose to work out of the CMPA's office located in Ottawa, Ontario near the beautiful Dow's Lake.
