A day in the life:


  • Work directly with Program Coordinators to complete daily report generation, database management, public correspondence, and QA / QC for multiple largescale septic, drinking water sampling and source water protection programs;
  • Interact and educate homeowners and the public with respect to how onsite septic systems operate and source water protection policies;
  • Support WSP's septic inspectors with completing boat and ATV access only onsite sewage system reinspections in Haliburton County, as required;
  • Analyze and review data to prepare reports to document the findings;
  • Support and coordinate the preparation of proposals, field work and reports;
  • Data collation, analysis, and manipulation;
  • Assist with all aspects of the field investigation, supervision of groundwater monitors, groundwater / surface water monitoring and sampling, drinking water sampling, topographic surveying, air and noise assessments, and field reconnaissance programs;
  • Support our various research initiatives for onsite septic system impacts on local water resources;
  • Ensure health and safety policies are followed and be a role model to influence similar behaviour;
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring to WSP
:


  • Working towards a degree in Environmental or Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Science, or other related disciplines;
  • Full "G" License, and access to a vehicle with insurance will be required;
  • Logical thinking and ability to bring practical solutions to challenges;
  • Able to adapt to changing duties as required;
  • Ability to work from home due to current COVID19 office restrictions when required;
  • Attention to detail in the completion of projectcritical documentation;
  • Strong organization skills and ability to follow schedules;
  • Selfmotivated and able to work independently or in a team environment;
  • Excellent English communication skills;
  • Working knowledge
