We are a fast-growing plastic processing plant looking for an experienced Tool Maker to join our team.

This position requires an individual with the capabilities of building a die from a blueprint and repairing a progressive draw without supervision.

The ability to weld tool steel is a definite asset. Individuals must be able to operate all equipment required to complete the job duties, including tool room equipment.

Position:

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN Day Shift (Mon-Fri)

We only offer Day Shifts:
Monday - Friday, 7 am-4 pm.

Responsibilities:

Build prepunch dies, hydrex cutoff dies, and rotary dies
Service, sharpen, maintain, and improve existing dies
Making replacement components for dies
Troubleshoot dies in presses
Install and test dies on new machines
Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as callipers, gauge blocks, micrometres, and dial indicator

Requirements:

Certification of Qualification in Tool and Die or equivalent experience

- five5 years of experience in die building of progressive and transfer dies

Set up and operate conventional machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders to cut, bore and grinding ferrous and nonferrous material to tight tolerances to ensure proper fitment with the die and other components
Ability to troubleshoot dies
Strong communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
Willing to work overtime as required
