Hours: 7am to 4:30pm
We are looking for a
_Plant Manager_.
Reporting to the VP, Supply Chain & Operations, the
_Plant Manager_ is responsible to oversee all daily operations of the plant whilst improving performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability through the implementation of effective lean manufacturing methods and strategies.
The incumbent must ensure the support of all stakeholders and ensure the continued focus on a Safety Culture and the promotion of our Safety Ethos.

Responsibilities
- Manage employees in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, all the while providing a clear sense of direction and focus. Ability to convey the company's corporate culture, values and mission
- Implement a culture of safety by ensuring that operations are conducted in a way that assures the security of all employees
- Promote and lead the Company's safety culture
- Contribute towards the achievement of company's strategic and operational objectives
- Ensure that products are manufactured in a correct, cost effective and timely manner in alignment with specifications and quality requirements
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results. Improve operational systems, processes and implement best practices that guarantee organizational wellbeing
- Responsible for maintaining and improving the plantwide quality system that focuses on customer satisfaction, defect prevention, improved defect detection, and continuous improvement
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions. Solve all problems associated with the operations planning
- Plan and manage the operations budget. Responsible for budgetary controls
- Examine financial data/statements and use them to improve profitability
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly cost forecasting summaries
- Monitor production KPI's; Ensure stock control and inventory balance. Carry out tight management of inventory levels. Monitor inventory of raw material and finished products
- Contribute to the growth of the Organization by using best purchasing practices, effective cost negotiations, evaluation and reduction of Logistics expenses, monitoring and improving lead times, while delivering quality product and maintaining optimum inventory levels
- Positively contribute to a diverse, inclusive and fair work environment, free from discrimination, bullying and harassment; Share a trusting relationship with sharegroup
- Recruit, manage and develop staff
- Address customer and personnel concerns
- Investigate and resolve billing issues and shipping discrepancies
- Conduct incident investigations and prepare appropriate reports in collaboration with the head office. Monitor and control corrective actions
- Lead the development of the prevention reoccurrence plan
- Develop equipment maintenance schedules and recommend the replacement of machinery when required
- Responsible for facilities maintenance and management and overall safety and cleanliness of the yard and the plant
- Responsible for preparing and transmitting all HR and H&S KPI's to MMG leads
- Work jointly with the other divisions and the different employees of crossfunctional MMG team
- Maintain knowledge of all company products, pricing and terms, sales and policies
- Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
- Perform other related duties to help achieve business success
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration with focus on Operations Managements/Supply Chain
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience in manufacturing industry
- Five (5) years of relevant management experience leading a fabrication/assembly plant
- Previous change management experience (driving, influencing and inspiring change through communication at all impacted levels)
- Building relationships: relates to people in an open, friendly, accepting manner. Excellent team player
- Engage and inspire: energizes others by clarifying the broader purpose and mission of their work
