Position Summary
***Working with assigned areas, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) manages the life cycle of employees from recruitment to retirement. The HRBP partners with managers to continually understand their HR needs, provide guidance and deliver HR solutions.

HR functions include, but are not limited to:

talent acquisition, talent management, metrics, HRIS, employee relations, compensation, benefits and pension administration, health and safety, employee engagement, program delivery and policy recommendations.


What you'll do at OCP

  • Develop and maintain employee relations, advise managers and staff on ways to build and maintain solid teams
  • Provide supervisors/managers with guidance and coaching to get the best from their teams, work with managers to address performance issues; Act as a valuable resource by providing expertise, guidance, and advice in all areas of human resources, including performance management, attendance management, disability management, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, legislative compliance, etc.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of new programs, policies and procedures as required
  • Act as the HRIS superuser for the organization, including performing verification audits and verification checks for accuracy and new user/employee set up on systems. Follows established processes when inputting or working with data in HR systems to ensure proper data quality.
  • Contribute and participate to the overall benefit and pension plan administration and provide employees with benefits and pension information and respond to inquiries
  • Ensure that job descriptions and compensation programs are updated and maintained; conduct salary surveys and administration to ensure organizational competitiveness and legal compliance
  • Identifies and leverages relevant data for recommendations, and/or analyzing trends and proactively addresses areas of need, such as in turnover, absenteeism, etc. Creates and maintain departmental KPIs.
  • Interprets metrics and to identify patterns and extract insight where possible
  • Working with the Manager, Human Resources, assist with the administration of progressive discipline in a fair and consistent manner, and attend employee discipline meetings as required to ensure discipline is conducted in accordance with legislative and procedural guidelines
  • Provide support to the Pension and Health & Safety Committees
  • Recommend, and implement employee engagement strategies and initiatives that support OCP desired culture
  • Research and recommend updates to existing, and the creation of new HR policies and procedures in keeping with HR best practices

  • Selfmotivation and solid organizational skills to efficiently and effectively manage workload, deal effectively with multiple demands and maintain composure while progressing toward desired outcomes.

_ _What experience we prefer**- Degree in a related field such as Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent.

  • CHRP designation
  • Demonstrated applied knowledge of employment legislation; Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, AODA and best practices around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Proficient computer skills in Windows environment, SharePoint and experience using HRIS systems, preferably ADP
