Position Overview

We are looking for a Driver Supervisor to join our team This position will work closely with our drivers to maximize efficiency and provide excellent service to customers, instilling a culture of safety and productivity throughout the team.


Responsibilities:


  • Offer guidance and support to drivers on best ways to deliver high levels of customer service, efficiency, and safety.
  • Participate in recruitment and retention of drivers with support from HR.
  • Work closely with the plant manager, shop foreman, and dispatch to find ways to streamline operations.
  • Ensure all load paperwork including pre and post trip inspections are accurate and submitted appropriately.
  • Oversee logístical aspects of the fleet and correspond with Dispatch regarding issues such as available trucks and drivers.
  • Liaise between drivers and management to communicate operational changes and challenges.
  • Foster positive working environment, promoting company unity.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for efficiency with driver workflow to leadership team and drivers.
  • Promote a culture of safety amongst the team, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures and transportation legislation.
  • Provide feedback to fleet personnel about job performance including disciplinary action, performance evaluations, and informal feedback.
  • Audit weekly payroll entries prior to processing.
  • Complete incident reports and investigations working closely for safety to resolve accidents, injuries, or nearmisses.
  • Approve, manage, and input timeoff requests.
  • Participate in quarterly driver incitive programs.
  • Coordinate with dispatch for annual fleet permits as well as permits for trucks leaving city limits.
  • Coordinate and assist Fleet Asset Manager to ensure all required documents are available in truck.
  • Respond to public concerns.
  • Attend pre pour meetings to plan out truck access routes when necessary.
  • Correspond with the shop regarding unit repairs and maintenance concerns.
  • Conduct site checks to determine pump size requirements and access points.
  • Participate in emergency site clean ups including oil, concrete, or mud spills.
Qualifications & Skills

  • 35 years of management experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
  • Previous experience working in the concrete and/or trucking industry.
  • Safety conscious mindset.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Outlook and Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience working with a GPS tracking system such as Track-It is preferred.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract is required.
  • Class 1 or 3 license is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics or management is an asset.
Hours of Work
Regular work week will be Monday through Friday 9AM - 6:30PM. Evenings, weekends, and overtime may be required from time to time depending on customer demand.

Working Conditions
This is a hybrid position working both in an office setting as well as in the field. Bending, crawling, and lifting up to 50lbs is required while in the field.
