Working within a multidisciplinary team including purchasing, production and logistics, the production planner is responsible for optimizing the production schedule to ensure the efficiency of manufacturing operations.

To this end, he/she plans, creates and manages the production schedule in order to maximize production efficiency and maintain a high level of customer service


Responsibilities:


  • Act as a liaison between the manufacturing and operations teams to meet deadlines and targets
  • Establish manufacturing priorities
  • Identify subcontracting needs and coordinate with the purchasing team
  • Confirm delivery dates depending on shipping areas
  • Enter new orders according to production schedule availability
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of planning parameters in the ERP system by performing analysis of parts and components required to fulfill orders and manufacture parts
  • Participate in the definition of minimum safety stock levels for machined parts
  • Participate in meetings related to production, procurement, engineering changes and product launches
  • Attend and actively participate in planning meetings, understand drivers, challenge assumptions and bring the team to agreement on demand and supply plans
  • Participate in special continuous improvement projects
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Knowledge of operational excellence concepts (S&OP)
  • Bilingual (English/French) written and spoken;
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes is essential
  • Knowledge of Business Central Dynamics is an asset

Experience and Training:


  • Bachelor's degree required. Supply chain or industrial engineering discipline preferred
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Rapid Response Manufacturing
