  • Reporting to the Director, External Communications, the Lead, Social Media is an experienced Communications professional with specific experience and expertise in social media management. This individual is creative, collaborative and has a keen understanding of social media best practices and the role social media can play in informing and engaging. The Lead is experienced in translating complex communications into strategic social initiatives with a vision to deliver a measurable increase in awareness and engagement.

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Develop, plan and execute targeted messaging in line with Ontario Health's social media strategy and best practices, as well as explore and recommend new approaches that align with Ontario Health's annual business plan-
  • Ensure social media strategies are on-brand, relevant, innovative, and effective in driving awareness and engagement and support Ontario Health's overall communications objectives and strategies-
  • Develop and maintain monthly social media calendars for all platforms based on overall communications' calendarsStay up to date with latest social media best practices, trends and technologies to provide ongoing guidance and recommendations for new social initiatives and tactics to deliver on strategic objectives and goals-
  • Measure and report on content performance, evolving approach as needed based on best practices and audience insights-
  • Provide regular, and as needed, social media scans to inform internal colleagues on current issues-
  • Support External Communications media team in monitoring of issues and current eventsHere is what you will need to be successful:Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field is required-
  • 5-7 years Communications experience in a complex or health care environment with specific experience and expertise in social media and community management;-
  • Bilingualism (French and English) an assetKnowledge and Skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in social media management and best practices, including community and content management, monitoring and measurement to optimize performance-
  • Advanced writing and communications skills with a proven ability to create content that is clear, consistent, and easy to understand for a variety of platforms-
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work individually and proactively, with strong organization and time management skills-
  • Understanding of how business goals relate to communications aims and content development-
  • Proven relationship builder with strong collaboration skills with experience working with partners across an organization-
  • Responsive, cooperative team member with sound judgement and solid decision-making ability; ability to effectively present recommendations and articulate rationale-
  • Demonstrated experience using social media analytical tools and presenting insights-
  • Experience with social listening with a solid understanding of issues management and crisis escalation best practices. Maintains up to date awareness of regulatory requirements-
  • Experience using Adobe Suite (ie. Photoshop and InDesign)
